One Dead, One Critical In Overnight Fairfield County Shooting

A Bridgeport man is dead and another in critical condition following a drive-by shooting in Fairfield County.

Len Allen Smith, 25, was fatally shot while sitting in a car parked at Union and Stratford Avenues around 12:27 a.m. Monday, said Bridgeport Police Spokesman Av Harris.

A second victim, Georgia Comacho, 33, also of Bridgeport, was in the back seat and was also shot, Harris said.

Both were taken by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital, where Smith was pronounced dead. Comacho underwent surgery and is in critical condition, he added.

According to witnesses, a vehicle, believed to be a white Jeep Cherokee, pulled alongside the victim's car and opened fire. Several hours later, a burned vehicle matching the suspect's was recovered in Shelton.
